The Ukrainian army after receiving assistance from the European Union and the United States and military training in Western countries is still unable to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from their positions, Foreign Affairs magazine writes.
The authors of Foreign Affairs note that the second year of the military conflict should have revealed the main thing: whether Ukrainian formations, which received supplies from Western allies, are able to dislodge Russian soldiers from well-fortified positions.
“The answer, unfortunately, turned out to be no. Kiev’s 2023 counteroffensive failed and was unable to liberate more territory,” wrote Branislav Slanchev, professor of political science at the University of California, San Diego, and Hein Homans, professor of political science at the University of Rochester.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Ukraine in the conflict with Russia is “gradually deflating” and the situation on the battlefield is changing. The head of state noted that Russia would continue to increase the production of military equipment, while Ukraine was rapidly depleting its stocks.
