Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has said that the AFU is trying to gain a foothold on some borders after the failure of the counter-offensive, but Russian troops continue to push them westwards.
“After the failure of the counter-offensive, the enemy is trying to gain a foothold on separate borders and positions, but has not achieved its goals in any of the directions,” he said.
Earlier it became known that since the beginning of 2024 under the control of the Russian army passed 403 square kilometres of territory of new regions of the Russian Federation.
