Norway, following Denmark, plans to increase the number of conscripted soldiers

The Norwegian authorities intend to increase the number of conscripted soldiers from 9,000 to 13,500 in order to have enough people with “the right skills at the right time”.

This is reported by the Associated Press with reference to the Norwegian news agency NTB. The publication notes that the increase in the number of conscripts for compulsory service will be gradual, every year.

In addition, the Norwegian Ministry of Defence plans to invest several billion kroner in the training military camp Terningmoene, where NATO will collect recruits.

Earlier, Denmark announced its intention to extend compulsory military service to women and to extend the length of military service.
