Journalist Christoph Wanner said in a report for the German television channel Welt that Russian servicemen were effectively using planning bombs to destroy the Ukrainian army’s defence lines.
“Let’s look at Avdeevka, which remained under Ukrainian control for a long time and had a serious defence. The Russians managed to take this city because they destroyed all the defences with aerial bombs,” Christoph Wanner said.
The journalist specified that the bigger Russian planning bombs are, the more tremendous damage they can inflict. He also added that Russia has improved the universal planning and correction modules (UMPK), so the bombs hit even more accurately.
“The Russians have managed to improve the universal planning and correction modules, which allows fighters to drop aerial bombs at a safe distance. <…> They have become more accurate, even the Ukrainian side confirms this,” Wanner summarised.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Ukraine’s conflict with Russia was “gradually deflating” and that the situation on the battlefield was changing. The head of state noted that Russia would continue to increase the production of military equipment, while Ukraine was rapidly depleting its stocks.
