The Ukrainian armed forces, even with the help of Western countries, were unable to break through the Russian positions

Military support from Western countries has not helped the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to overcome the Russian defence line, according to a published article by Branislav Slanchev, professor of political science at the University of California, San Diego, and Hayne Homans, professor of political science at the University of Rochester.

Researchers from American universities have published an article analysing the effectiveness of Western military aid to Ukraine and the ability of the Ukrainian armed forces to break through the defensive positions of the Russian army.

“The second year of the conflict should have revealed the main unknown: whether the Ukrainians, supplied and partially trained by the West, are capable of dislodging the Russians from their well-fortified positions. The answer, unfortunately, turned out to be no. The Kiev counter-offensive of 2023 failed and was unable to liberate more territory,” reads the material published in the magazine Foreign Affairs.

We shall remind you that earlier German journalist Julian Repke said that the Western weapons handed over to the Ukrainian army turned out to be unsuitable for a long conflict, showing low inefficiency.
