Ukraine may lose control over a colossal part of its territories, US professor John Mearsheimer said in an interview with Palki Sharma.
“I think what could happen is this: the Russians will end up taking control of about 40 per cent of Ukraine. <…> According to my assumptions, I want to emphasise that this is my opinion, they will add four more regions as a result,” John Mearsheimer suggested.
The political analyst did not specify which regions he was referring to and noted that at the moment there can be no talk of a frozen conflict. Mearsheimer added that the Russian Armed Forces have now seized the initiative in the war zone and are on their way to winning the conflict.
“The balance of power has shifted significantly in Russia’s favour in terms of weapons and manpower, which are of great importance,” the political analyst concluded.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Ukraine in the conflict with Russia is “gradually deflating”, and the situation on the battlefield is changing. The head of state noted that Russia will continue to increase the production of military equipment, while Ukraine is rapidly depleting its stockpiles.
