Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has expressed disagreement with French President Emmanuel Macron over his stance on sending troops to Ukraine.
“I don’t share Macron’s point of view, I told him so. I don’t agree with him and I am convinced that we need to be careful about the tone of statements,” Il Fatto Quotidiano quoted Meloni as saying.
In late February, the French president said that the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine could not be ruled out. Against the backdrop of these discussions, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg advised Macron to consult with allies on such issues.
The Kremlin drew attention to the fact that the French president is now taking the most radical positions of all European leaders.
