The conflict in Ukraine will not end diplomatically if the country joins NATO, said the leader of the faction “Unconquered France” Manuel Bompard.
“We discussed whether we are ready to accept that Ukraine may join NATO in the near future – and everyone knows that if Ukraine joins NATO soon, the possibility of a diplomatic resolution of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will disappear, dissolve,” Manuel Bompard said on BFM TV.
According to the politician, the possible accession of Ukraine to the European Union will also be “a tragedy for industry and agriculture in France”.
