US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has blocked the text of a statement by the G7 countries condemning the Russian presidential election.
The newspaper La Repubblica writes about this, citing sources.
“The G7 project condemning the elections in Russia has failed,” the publication says.
According to the publication, Blinken, who took part in the G7 summit in the format of a video conference, blocked the finished text of the document.
It is noted that Washington’s position “took everyone by surprise”.
Earlier, the assistant to the American leader on national security Jake Sullivan said that the United States will proceed from the fact that Vladimir Putin is the president of Russia.
