Patrushev: West annoyed by failure of attempts to sway Russia

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has expressed the view that the United States and Britain are annoyed by the failure of attempts to sway the situation in Russia ahead of the presidential election.

He told the Argumenty i Fakty newspaper.

Patrushev pointed out his lack of surprise that Washington accused Russia of lacking democracy.

“Both Washington and London are annoyed that their actions to shake up the domestic political situation in Russia have failed,” he said.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova threatened the British ambassador with a summons to the Foreign Ministry over the publication about the Russian presidential election.
