Blinken says Israel has a duty to protect Gaza civilians

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Israel has a duty to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip.

He stated the terrible situation for children, women and men in Gaza.

Blinken noted, however, that this was primarily caused by the actions of Hamas on 7 October and throughout the period afterwards.

“Israel is certainly obliged to make the protection of civilians a priority in its actions of self-defence and in preventing a repetition of the events of October 7,” RIA Novosti reported him as saying.

On March 13, the enclave’s Health Ministry reported that the death toll from IDF strikes on the Gaza Strip had risen to 31,272.

On 15 March, Al Jazeera reported that the Israeli military struck a roundabout in Gaza where a crowd of people waiting for humanitarian aid had gathered. At least 12 people were killed and 100 others were injured, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
