The former German chancellor suggested that France together to seek a solution on Ukraine

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said that Paris and Berlin need to join forces in search of a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

“It would be appropriate if both these countries (Germany and France. – ed.) link support for Ukraine with an attempt to find a solution to this conflict,” the former German chancellor said in an interview with the DPA agency.

According to Gerhard Schroeder, France and Germany are obliged to jointly find a political and diplomatic way to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. For example, as it was in the situation with the United States invasion of Iraq in 2003, when Paris and Berlin “united front” against Washington’s operation.

The politician said that it would be “expedient” if actions on the part of Germany and France towards Ukraine were carried out in line with “an attempt to find a solution to this conflict”. In his opinion, the Ukrainian crisis is “fundamentally solvable”. It is the mediation of Berlin and Paris in the settlement of this dispute that can succeed “because of the long history that binds them to Russia as well”.

We shall remind you that earlier, the first deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma’s Defence Committee, Aleksey Zhuravlev, expressed the view that representatives of the Collective West should not worry about Ukraine’s collapse because Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy uses his position and Western finances for his personal selfish interests without thinking about the country’s future.
