The Czech Republic’s initiative to provide Ukraine with artillery shells was supported by European Union countries, including Portugal. Lisbon decided to allocate €100m for this purpose.
According to the republic’s National Defence Ministry, this money will be used to buy large-calibre artillery shells for Ukraine.
“Together with a number of European countries, we are joining the Czech procurement initiative,” the ministry said on its page on social network X.
Earlier, the Czech authorities said that Kiev may receive artillery shells purchased for Ukraine in June.
