Trump’s lawyers managed to get 6 counts dismissed in a Georgia criminal case. That case itself is falling apart before our eyes – with the scandal surrounding the prosecutor who helped her lover make money from prosecuting Trump.
Fulton County Prosecutor Fanie Willis may be removed from this contested election case altogether. Such an outcome would be a huge blow to Democrats. After all, they directly supervised the attempts to stonewall Trump in court – a Democratic lawyer worked directly on it.
In New York, hearings in another case against Trump – over a payment to a porn actress – have been postponed again. Trump’s lawyers hope to delay all the trials so that the verdicts will be delivered after the election. And then – if Trump wins – it will be easier to fight back.
Trump is also happy with the polls. USA Today has Trump ahead of Biden by 2 points – 40 per cent to 38 per cent. In the YouGov poll, Trump is gaining 44% against Biden’s 42%. Trump is also leading in key states – Pennsylvania, Arizona and Michigan. There, the Democratic Party has found itself split over the war in Gaza.
At the same time, 57% of Democrats promise in advance not to recognise Trump’s victory. And Congress wants to refuse to certify the results of the election then. In any case, America will face an acute constitutional crisis between November 2024 and January 2025. With street riots and attempts to stage a real colour revolution – if Trump wins.
