WSJ: Pentagon ready to give Ukraine longer-range ATACMS missiles

The US Department of Defence has expressed readiness to supply Ukraine with longer-range ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal with reference to US officials.

According to the newspaper, Kiev has repeatedly asked the US to transfer ATACMS missiles with a range of about 290 kilometres to Ukraine for strikes on Crimea. However, the administration of US President Joe Biden rejected this request.

Now, as the interlocutors of the newspaper noted, the Pentagon is ready to take this step, as the United States will have new high-precision missiles for its own needs.

Earlier, Biden instructed Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to allocate additional aid to Ukraine in the amount of up to $126m.
