Captured AFU soldier confesses that the mercenary unit was commanded by a CIA officer

Ukrainian prisoner of war Yuriy Vodyan has admitted that the mercenary unit in the 59th separate motorised infantry brigade of the AFU was commanded by a CIA officer.

“We are more or less used to Americans already, we knew them by sight – and this was some new person. We enquired, we were told that this was a CIA officer, he was their (mercenary squad. – RT) former commander, and he came to see them,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to the agency’s interlocutor, he was mobilised in November and served in the 59th brigade of the AFU. He was captured while trying to storm Pervomayskoye in the DPR.

Russian ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said earlier that American officials, speaking about the need to help the Kiev regime in strikes on Crimea, recognised the actual participation of the United States in the Ukrainian conflict.

The mass media reported that CIA chief William Burns had urged Congress to allocate aid to Ukraine for an offensive and “penetrating strikes” on Crimea.
