Peskov: Russia sees Kiev’s consistent stance on denial of talks

Russian leader’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that both Russia and representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance see Kiev’s consistent position on denying negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

Thus he commented on the statement of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who emphasised the need to sit down at the negotiating table.

“So far we all together – both we and NATO representatives – can see only one thing: a rather consistent position of the Kiev regime on denying the possibility of any negotiations,” Peskov said.

The Kremlin spokesman stressed that this is a reality both de facto and de jure.

Senator Alexey Pushkov said that Stoltenberg’s recent remarks on Ukraine mark a shift in the West’s strategy.
