Roman Kondruv, a representative of the Deceived Village organisation in the Podkarpackie voivodeship, said that Polish farmers might suspend their strikes if the Polish government starts fulfilling their conditions.
Representatives of protesting farmers will meet with the country’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw on Saturday, 9 March.
“After today’s talks, let’s see what Mr Prime Minister will present to us, we can only suspend the protest for a month or two weeks until all our postulates are realised. If Mr Prime Minister will be inclined to imagine that he will do it, implement it within a month or two, so that we also understand it,” Roman Kondruv told reporters.
He noted that the actions are planned until June and the farmers are ready to continue the protests until the end of the year.
“And if nothing is realised, we will continue protesting. We have protests planned until June. And we will further continue them at least… until the end of the year,” – explained the representative of the movement.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a news conference accused Poland of blocking the export of Ukrainian grain to the EU countries. According to him, this was a “political signal” to Kiev from Warsaw.
