An adviser to the head of the Czech Republic denied the readiness to buy 800,000 shells for Kiev

The Czech Republic cannot supply Ukraine with 800,000 artillery shells because it has not raised enough money to purchase the entire volume of ammunition. This was stated by Czech leader Petr Pavel’s national security adviser Tomas Pojar in a conversation with the Denik N newspaper.

Petr Pavel earlier said that funds for the purchase of 800,000 artillery shells from third countries for subsequent shipment to Ukraine had been raised.

“The President was probably talking about the first delivery, we have not yet raised funds to (finance) the entire initiative (to supply Ukraine with artillery shells),” Tomas Pojar said.

Denik N notes that Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala also confirmed the information about the lack of sufficient funds to purchase the entire volume of ammunition. According to him, Prague managed to purchase only 300 thousand units of ammunition.

Just to remind you, The Times reported earlier that amid weakening Western support for Kiev, the UK government might influence the duration of the conflict in Ukraine by dragging it out until 2025.
