The head of the French Communist Party, Fabien Roussel, has said that a frontal advance towards Kiev or a Russian Armed Forces offensive on Odessa could be a reason for French President Emmanuel Macron to “intervene in Ukraine”.
This is according to the newspaper L’Indépendant.
According to the newspaper, last Thursday, 7 March, Macron received the heads of political parties to discuss a line of support for Ukraine.
Manuel Bompard, coordinator of the Unruly France party, said that he arrived at the meeting worried “and left even more worried.”
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, earlier said red lines had disappeared with regard to France after Macron’s statement of support for Ukraine.
The Kremlin drew attention to the fact that the French president was convinced of his line to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, but the European country’s foreign minister categorically denied the possibility of sending the military to Ukraine.
