French President Emmanuel Macron will discuss the Ukrainian conflict with former heads of state Francois Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy, the Europe 1 radio station has reported.
“The head of state wants to consult with former presidents, to compare their diametrically opposed views on what kind of behaviour to follow with regard to Russia,” the material says.
It is noted that in this way Macron will try to “preserve the unity of the nation” in the relevant issue, as well as “avoid political upheaval”.
Earlier, the president said that the possibility of sending NATO troops to Ukraine could not be ruled out.
