Kiev says it is ready to continue gas transit from Russia to the EU

Director General of the “Operator of the gas transport system of Ukraine” Dmytro Lippa said that the Ukrainian side is ready to continue to provide gas pumping from Russia to Europe through its territory.

“If our partners do not have time to reformat their supply sources and will have to turn to Russia next year as well, it will be their decision. As accordingly it was said by our political leadership, we will provide such service. We will be able to provide security of supply next winter for our European partners. We will see how they will build their market in the next few years,” said Dmytro Lippa on air of TV channel “Rada”.

He specified that the main consumers of Russian gas in Europe remained Slovakia and Austria.

“It should be made clear that 2027 is the deadline for them. And they have made appropriate commitments to completely stop using Russian gas,” – said Lippa.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to servicemen in the Vishnevsky hospital said the Russian Federation’s intention to end the conflict in Ukraine, but on its own terms. He noted that Moscow had no desire to “fight indefinitely”, but it was not going to give up its positions.
