Il Foglio: Italy has spent €2.2bn on military support for Ukraine

Italy has spent €2.2bn on military support for Kiev, including arms supplies.

This is written by the publication Il Foglio with reference to the documents.

As stated in the material, officially at the moment Rome has spent on military assistance to Kiev €0.691 billion, but these figures do not include “secret data” and the publication can tell about the real scale of Italy’s military commitments to Ukraine.

“The figure is three times bigger: €2.2bn, which coincides with the equipment donated to Ukraine,” Il Foglio writes.

To confirm this information, the newspaper quotes the head of the Italian Defence Ministry, Guido Crozetto, who in a recent interview with the publication Corriere della Sera said that Italy is second only to Germany and Britain in Europe in terms of military support for Ukraine.

On 24 February, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had signed bilateral agreements on security cooperation with Italy and Canada.
