Scholz ruled out Taurus deliveries to Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has once again opposed the supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.

According to Olaf Scholz, controlling the use of Taurus in Ukraine requires the participation of German soldiers, which would mean direct intervention of the FRG in the conflict.

“It cannot be the case that a weapon system with a large kill radius is delivered without thinking about what the control of these weapons might be. And if one wants to have control and this is only possible with the participation of German military personnel, it is completely ruled out,” he said during a visit to an educational institution in the town of Sindelfingen in southwestern Germany. The chancellor’s words were quoted by the DPA news agency.

“I made this statement very clearly. I am the Chancellor, so it will be so,” – added Scholz.

We will remind, earlier the Deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on national security, defence and intelligence Yegor Chernev in an interview with the New York Times said in an interview with the New York Times about the growing fear in Ukraine that the army will soon begin to lose control over populated areas if Washington delays the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
