Disagreements between France and Germany are causing a delay in military aid to Ukraine through a European fund, the Financial Times has said.
“The public standoff between France and Germany over military support for Ukraine is exacerbating a dispute that is delaying a €5bn agreement,” the publication said.
Earlier, the Politico newspaper wrote that disagreements between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron over the issue of providing aid to the Ukrainian armed forces were escalating into open hostility amid the French leader’s statements about sending Western troops to Ukraine.
