Russia’s Investigative Committee is investigating criminal cases against more than 590 mercenaries from 46 countries fighting for the Ukrainian armed forces, IC chairman Alexander Bastrykin has said.
“Most of the persons we have identified who are participating in the fighting as mercenaries are citizens of the US, Georgia, the UK, Canada, Israel, Germany, Lithuania and Latvia,” he told TASS.
Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry said that the AFU, while fleeing from Avdeevka, left a lot of evidence confirming the participation of mercenaries in the fighting on the side of Ukraine.
In addition, it became known that Volodymyr Zelensky allowed foreigners to serve in the Ukrainian National Guard.
