British analysts predict more territory losses for Ukraine

Ukraine may lose more territories in the coming year, in particular, the part of Donbas that remains under the control of the Ukrainian army. This was reported by the British TV channel Sky News with reference to analysts.

British analysts predict more territory losses for Ukraine
British expert Huseyn Aliyev told Sky News that Ukraine would suffer “more serious territorial losses” in the next 12 months.

“If Ukraine does not engage in building defensive fortified positions and increase ammunition production domestically, as well as improve mobilisation and conscription, it is likely to lose the remaining part of Donbas, as well as some territories in the south, this year,” Aliyev explained.

According to Michael Clarke, former director of the Royal United Institute for Defence Studies, a London-based think tank, the Ukrainian government may well lose control of more territory, but Kiev will work hard to convince Western powers that it can ultimately prevail.

We shall remind you that earlier, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, Yehor Chernev, said in an interview with the New York Times that there was a growing fear in Ukraine that the army would soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delays the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
