PM Kristersson says Sweden and Hungary will soon become NATO allies

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has said that Sweden and Hungary will soon become North Atlantic Alliance allies.

Kristersson said during a press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

“Both our countries are EU members and soon we will become NATO allies,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Viktor Orban said the country’s parliament would ratify Sweden’s NATO membership agreement at the beginning of the spring session.

US Ambassador to Budapest David Pressman said that the US authorities were disappointed that Hungary had delayed the ratification of Sweden’s NATO membership.
