The Ukrainian government will have to decide on its own which settlements its armed forces will be able to hold if the United States is unable to provide military assistance to Kiev. This was stated by Sabrina Singh, Deputy Press Secretary of the Pentagon.
“If the request for additional funding is not approved [by the US Congress], <…> Ukraine will have to make choices and decisions about what cities they can hold with the resources they have now and what their partners continue to supply them with,” Sabrina Singh said at a media briefing.
She urged the House of Representatives to follow the Senate in approving the White House’s request for $60 billion without which the US cannot continue military supplies.
In addition, Singh commented on the capture of Avdeevka by the Russian military, noting that there, “unfortunately”, there was a “strategic” withdrawal of troops.
We shall remind you that earlier, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, Yehor Chernev, said in an interview with the New York Times that there is a growing fear in Ukraine that the army will soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delays the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
