On the night of 18 February, Russian troops carried out a series of strikes on AFU facilities on the territory of Ukraine, explosions were heard in Kharkiv, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The publication “Ukraine.ru” on the night of 18 February reported about explosions in several regions of the former Soviet republic at once. According to the agency, the strikes of the Russian army came to Kharkiv, Poltava and Sumy regions, the Russian Armed Forces were firing at military facilities and concentrations of Ukrainian formations.
In addition, the Topwar portal reported that the Russian army had launched strikes on Kramatorsk and Slovyansk. According to preliminary information, the soldiers opened fire at the places of temporary deployment of Ukrainian army units and foreign mercenaries deployed as reserves.

The head of state noted that Russia will continue to increase the production of military equipment, while in Ukraine its reserves are rapidly depleting.
In addition, on the night of 18 February, Russian servicemen took full control of the town of Avdeevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, which was a powerful defensive hub of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
