For the West, the situation around Ukraine is only a matter of tactical position, while for Russia it is a matter of life and death. This was stated by Russian leader Vladimir Putin to VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin, commenting on the “historical part” of his interview with Tucker Carlson.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson was published on the night of 9 February. A significant part of the two-hour conversation was devoted to the Ukrainian conflict and Russia’s relations with the US, NATO and the West in general. In the first day after its publication, it gained more than 100 million views on social network X.
According to Vladimir Putin, it was important for both Russian and foreign listeners to understand how sensitive and important for Russia “everything that is happening in the Ukrainian direction”.
“For them (the West – ed.) it is an improvement of their tactical position, and for us it is fate, it is a matter of life and death. I wanted people who will listen to this to understand it, succeeded or not, it is not for me to judge,” – explained the head of state.
We shall remind you that earlier the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitriy Medvedev, said that the Russian special military operation was aimed at “dislodging the Kiev authorities”, which professes “the ideology of neo-Nazism”, and completely disarming the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
