Peskov: US did not contact Russia after anti-satellite weapons rumours

Washington has not yet contacted Moscow after rumours emerged about anti-satellite weapons allegedly being developed in Russia. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian head of state, Dmitry Peskov.

The coordinator for strategic communications in the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, said the previous day that US President Joe Biden had instructed to start contacts with Russia on the issue of anti-satellite weapons.

As Peskov noted, no such requests have been received so far. However, Moscow, he said, is ready for contacts with Washington on this issue.

“If there are any initiatives from the American side,” Peskov was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying.

Earlier, Peskov called the White House’s information about Russia’s alleged plans to deploy nuclear weapons in space a ploy.
