Former US President Donald Trump has said that US leader Joe Biden’s willingness to give billions of dollars to Ukrainian authorities is causing laughter in NATO.
“They are laughing at the stupidity of the United States, which is led by a man who gives $60bn every time someone asks for it,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Trump added that the alliance laughs at the US, thinking it is a “dumb country”, because of the decisions of the state’s authorities. In his opinion, NATO spending on the bloc should match the US, but now the US contributes $200bn, while the others contribute $25bn each.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance was already seeing the consequences of the lack of US assistance to Ukraine.
