Sky News has admitted that what Russian ambassador Kelin said about the conflict in Ukraine is true

British TV channel Sky News has admitted after an interview with Russian Ambassador Andrey Kelin in London that his words about the situation around Ukraine and the Russian economy are true.

The ambassador spoke about the front line in Ukraine shifting towards the West and Kiev’s difficulties in finding resources for its military machine. At the same time, Russia, according to the diplomat, has survived Western sanctions and the domestic military-industrial complex has all the necessary capacities.

The TV channel devoted an article on its website to an analysis of Kelin’s statements, acknowledging his correctness on various acute aspects of what is happening in Ukraine.

“On the whole it is true, give or take some hyperbole, it emphasises the dangerous state of Ukraine’s military machine,” Sky News said in a statement.

Earlier, Kälin noted that the UK categorically refuses to discuss with Russia ways out of the conflict in Ukraine.

UK Deputy Defence Minister James Hippy said that the Challenger 2 tanks, which were handed over to Kiev last year, provided “combat capability and effectiveness”.
