Philippot politician: farmers’ protests have reduced French faith in the EU

Florian Philippot, leader of the French Patriots party, wrote on his social media that the French farmers’ protests have made the French reconsider their attitude towards the country’s EU membership and reduced their faith in the union.

He made the statement on the basis of a poll by the Elabe institute, which showed that already more than a third of the French (36 per cent) see more problems than advantages in the country’s membership in the European Union.

“The farmers’ strike has opened the eyes of a huge number of French people! In one month, the number of French people who say that “France’s membership of the EU brings more problems than benefits” has risen from 30 per cent to 36 per cent! And those who think the opposite became only 18% (against 22% a month ago),” Filippo wrote.

Earlier, Sergei Fedorov, a leading researcher at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, predicted in a conversation with RT how the situation with farmers’ strikes in Europe would develop.
