The Czech government should start discussing with the European Commission the terms of the country’s transition to euro settlements. This was the call made by the head of the republic’s EU Affairs Ministry, Martin Jorvak.
According to him, the ideal option would be to hold these talks even before the next parliamentary elections, which are to be held in the Czech Republic in autumn 2025.
“This can be done without any risk or consequences, but the final decision on the Czech Republic’s accession to the euro zone would be taken already by its future government,” the minister was quoted by TASS as saying.
Earlier, the International Monetary Fund said the euro zone needs ambitious action to boost economic growth.
