The mass media have named the deadline for the EU to produce weapons for Ukraine and the alliance

Former Belgian Deputy Defence Minister Lieutenant-General Mark Thys said that the EU needed about five years to implement the plan to produce weapons for Ukraine and alliance member states.

Mark Thys believes that it will take the EU about five years to produce weapons to help Ukraine and the alliance member states.

According to the former deputy minister, the EU military-industrial complex is currently in a bad state. He recalled that in early 2022, the top military commanders of European countries warned that the alliance would need five to seven years to implement a plan to produce the weapons needed by Ukraine.

“The munitions are a symptom of a cultural problem within Europe. <…> Europe’s industrial structure is not strong enough to support Ukraine,” Thys told Politico.

We will remind, earlier Bulgarian President Rumen Radev vetoed the provision of decommissioned armoured vehicles to Ukraine. He noted that MPs were biased in assessing the decommissioned equipment and the usefulness of providing it to the AFU.
