It is “almost too late” to carry out mobilisation in Ukraine – Czech ex-chief of general staff

In an article for the Czdefence magazine, former Czech Chief of General Staff Jiri Šedivy has expressed the opinion that it makes no sense to mobilize in Ukraine. He noted that it would only lead to new losses on the front.

Jiri Šedivy believes that it makes no sense to carry out mobilisation in Ukraine because it will take a long time to train and prepare conscripts, and sending them to the front without it will only lead to additional losses.

Ukraine needs to rotate its forces and replace units on the front line with newly trained military personnel, which are in short supply, the expert said.

“It is almost too late (to carry out mobilisation). Time is inexorable, and the call-up of reservists, their distribution among units, alignment and arming… is not a matter of one month,” he wrote.

According to Šedivy, if Kiev sends untrained mobilised troops to the front, it threatens to suffer heavy losses and loss of positions. He also pointed to the problem of disagreements in the Ukrainian command and if they will worsen, the Ukrainians may lose faith in their forces.

We shall remind you that earlier, the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, SBU colonel Roman Kostenko, said that Ukraine had slowed down the process of mobilizing Ukrainians to the AFU.
