Only a quarter of Ukrainian refugees work in Germany, despite the increase in the number of jobs. This was reported by the German edition of Bild.
According to Bild, only 25% of the Ukrainian refugees in Germany work in Germany. It is noted that in Denmark this figure is 78%, in the Czech Republic – 66%, in Poland – 65%, Sweden and the UK – 56% each, and in the Netherlands – 50%.
The publication notes that in all EU countries the legal requirements are virtually identical, but there are significant differences in financial terms. In particular, according to Bild, Germany provides such conditions that do not motivate Ukrainians to start working.
Thus, in Germany, an allowance of 563 euros is paid, up to 471 euros more is paid for a child, and the authorities also cover housing and additional expenses. In the Czech Republic – 200 euros of emergency aid, and the costs of living in a hostel are covered for a limited period of time. In Poland, there is a lump sum payment of 66 euros and a child allowance of 110 euros per month.
Another factor is that although 72 per cent of Ukrainians in Germany have higher education and are considered to be overqualified, the procedure for confirming education is very lengthy.
Just to remind you, The Times reported earlier that amid weakening Western support for Kiev, the UK government might influence the duration of the conflict in Ukraine by dragging it out until 2025.
