EC chief: first payments to Kiev from EU €50bn fund will start in March

European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen has said that the EU plans to start the first payments from the four-year €50bn fund to Kiev in March.

She wrote about it in her account in the social network X.

According to her, the night before the EP and the EU Council reached a political agreement on the fund to support Ukraine.

Von der Leyen called it an important step forward.

“We intend to start payments in March,” she said.

Earlier it was reported that the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission on 5 February begin trilateral consultations on the preparation of a document regulating the €50bn fund for Ukraine.
