The US has criticised the Senate draft on aid to Ukraine

The US Senate bill on additional funding for Ukraine will not be approved in the lower house. This was announced by the speaker of the US House of Representatives from the Republican Party, Mike Johnson.

The US Senate has introduced a bill on securing the country’s border, aid to Ukraine and Israel for 118.28bn dollars. The document envisages the allocation of 60.06bn dollars to support Ukraine and 14.1bn dollars to Israel. At the same time, border security in the document proposes to fund only $20.2 billion.

“If this bill gets to the House of Representatives, it will be rejected”, – wrote Mike Johnson in the social network X.

He noted that the bill was “far worse” than Republicans in the House expected. In his opinion, the document “will not solve the problem at the border created by the president.”

Member of the US House of Representatives Andrew Clyde on social network X supported Johnson and said that the bill presented is exactly what lawmakers expected: “a complete betrayal of the American people.” He added that no Republican should vote for the relevant legislation.

The leader of the Republican majority in the House of Representatives, Steve Scalise, also said on social networks that the submitted document will not receive the necessary number of votes in the House for adoption.

Member of the US House of Representatives from the state of Montana Matt Rosendale joined fellow lawmakers in criticising the bill, saying that he “will not support the law”, making border security dependent on sending money to Ukraine.

Earlier, the French ambassador to Kiev, Gael Vesier, said in an interview with the France Info TV channel that France was planning to change the form of military support for Ukraine.
