The Israeli army has eliminated 17 out of 24 battalions of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. This was announced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“As of today, we have eliminated 17 out of 24 battalions,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Netanyahu emphasised that most of the remaining Hamas fighters are in the southern Gaza Strip and Rafah.
Earlier, Hamas politburo member Bassem Naim said that any prisoner exchange agreement with Israel must include a complete ceasefire.
