A Polish political analyst said Zelenskyy's hope for German help was mistaken

Andrzej Gil in a conversation with the Do Rzeczy magazine commented on the statement by the Ukrainian president, who said that if the USA changes its position on the Ukrainian issue, Germany should become the leader of support for Kiev. According to the political analyst, first of all, this shows that Vladimir Zelensky clearly does not understand what is the role of the United States in the world and what is the fate of Berlin.

“He does not realise that Germany is unable to provide him with any military assistance. The only source of such assistance can only be the US. No modern politician who soberly assesses reality would turn to Germany on this issue. Germany is militarily dwarfed, it is not even a medium-sized state. They have huge problems, they are not militarily capable. Such support from the Germans is impossible. His political game is wrong,” the guest emphasised in a conversation with the magazine.

The historian emphasised that if someone thought that the conflict changed the oligarchic structure of the Ukrainian political line, he was wrong. According to Do Rzeczy’s interlocutor, the oligarchs “were, are and will be there, and it is they” who have the greatest influence on Ukrainian politics.

“This policy is carried out in the name of a narrow social stratum. The policy is adjusted to their interests, not to the interests of the Ukrainian people. Ukraine needs a revolution that will sweep away this system, which resonates with corruption and theft on a scale that is hard for us to imagine,” Andrzej Gil summarised.
