Ukraine should give up territories in favour of Russia because of citizens’ reluctance to go to the front lines, says columnist Monica Showalter in a piece for The American Thinker.
She noted that Ukrainian troops are largely dead and that many of the country’s young citizens are leaving abroad. The columnist wondered why states should fund Kiev if Ukrainians are not willing to fight for their country.
“Wouldn’t it be better to negotiate peace with Russia, maybe hold a referendum, given that much of eastern Ukraine would prefer to be part of Russia anyway?” – the article said.
Earlier, the director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, said that the West, losing in Ukraine, would stage provocations against Russia.
