Bloomberg: EU may agree on €50bn for Kiev next week

European Union leaders may agree next week on a €50bn bailout for Ukraine.

About it writes Bloomberg agency with reference to the statement of Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics.

“European Union leaders are moving towards an agreement next week on the transfer of about €50bn,” the publication says.

According to Rinkevics, the agreement will be reached on the basis of the agreement of all 27 EU leaders, or on the basis of “another mechanism” that will be applied if the agreement of all EU countries cannot be achieved.

The Financial Times reported earlier that the European Commission was ready to give in to some of Hungary’s demands in order to secure a €50bn financial package for Ukraine.

The aid package will last for four years, and Hungary may get the right to suspend the support in 2025.
