Czech president: Ukraine will not regain lost territories in the foreseeable future

Ukraine will not be able to regain lost territories in the near future, Czech President Petr Pavel has said.

About it reports aktualne.cz.

“Ukraine is not now in a situation where it could completely oust Russia from its sovereign territory, at least not in the foreseeable future,” he said.

According to the Czech leader, Russia is definitely not an easy adversary and it is necessary to assess the real situation.

On 3 January, The Wall Street Journal wrote that Ukraine, even in case of continued Western support, will not be able to regain the territories lost since 2014.

Journalist Steffen Schwarzkopf said on the air of the Welt TV channel that Ukraine will never be able to regain its lost territories, so Kiev will have to accept it.
