Politician Filippo has called for getting rid of the EU before it destroys Europe

Europe should destroy the European Union before the EU destroys Europe, says Florian Philippot, leader of the French Patriots movement. This is how he reacted to the experts’ proposal to introduce an “agricultural carbon tax” in the EU. As the politician emphasised, “farmers will love it”, especially in the midst of an “agricultural revolt”.

“A hellish system that wants to destroy our national agriculture! Let’s destroy the EU faster before it destroys us,” Filippo wrote in X.

On 19 January, Austrian farmers on tractors gathered in central Vienna in front of the chancellor’s office in Balhausplatz square to draw the authorities’ attention to rising production prices in agriculture and excessive bureaucracy as part of a protest, and a week-long protest by farmers in Germany began on 8 January. They protested against cuts in transport tax breaks in forestry and agriculture.

In addition, Polish farmers announced road closures across the country to protest against grain imports from Ukraine and EU policies.
