Hungary will not participate in military aid to Ukraine from the EU special fund

Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto said that Budapest will not take part in the initiative to provide Ukraine with military aid worth 5 billion euros a year from the European Union’s special fund.

According to Peter Szijjártó, Hungary is not ready to take part in any process that will lead to an increase in arms supplies to Ukraine. The Hungarian diplomat noted that at the same time Budapest can not and will not impede the will of others.

“According to the European Commission’s proposal, Hungary will have to pay up to 23 billion forints (60 million euros. – ed.) within a year of the decision to have other countries supply arms to Ukraine. It is obvious that Hungary will not support this and will not supply weapons to Ukraine. At the same time, we cannot and do not want to prevent others from supplying weapons on the basis of their own national decisions,” Péter Szijjártó said while talking to Hungarian journalists during a break in a meeting with his colleagues in Brussels.

We shall remind you that earlier Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo mentioned that Ukraine missed the opportunity to conclude an acceptable agreement with Russia due to the fault of the Collective West, and now Moscow will dictate the terms for the conflict settlement.
