The Ukrainian armed forces said there were fewer and fewer men and the quality of reinforcements was falling – The Sunday Times

There are fewer and fewer soldiers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and the quality of reinforcements is getting lower every time. This was reported by the British newspaper The Sunday Times with reference to the commander of one of the brigades of the AFU.

“People are running out, and the quality of reinforcements is getting lower and lower every time,” the commander of the 32nd brigade of the AFU Dmitry Berlym told The Sunday Times.

According to the newspaper, Ukrainian soldiers who have been at the front since the conflict began are “morally and physically exhausted, and there are not enough younger fighters to replace them.” The replacements are middle-aged men with very different physical characteristics. The average age of Ukrainian soldiers is 43, the publication notes.

“At that age, it is hard to fulfil tasks. For some, even carrying ammunition and body armour to forward positions is difficult,” a Ukrainian commander told The Sunday Times.

We will remind, earlier a soldier of one of the Ukrainian elite units in a conversation with the German TV channel Welt said that in the ranks of the Armed forces of Ukraine regret the inflated expectations of a speedy victory.
