The head of a NATO committee has called for preparing for conflict with Russia in the next 20 years

NATO countries should prepare for a possible conflict with Russia in the next 20 years. This was stated by Rob Bauer, head of the North Atlantic Alliance Military Committee.

According to him, the peaceful existence of the alliance countries is not a matter of course.

“And that is why we have to prepare for a conflict with Russia. We need to be ready for everything,” Bauer said in an interview with The Telegraph newspaper.

The NATO representative emphasised that not everything “will be fine in the next 20 years”.

Earlier, Colonel Douglas McGregor, former advisor to the Pentagon chief, said that the US and its partners should be glad that Russia is restrained in responding to their provocations.

Also, according to him, plans to defeat Russia never had a chance of success.
